Lietuvos Rytas added strength to the frontline with the signing of Petras Balocka. The 23-year-old big man agreed to a two-year deal with a team option to extend it for another season.
Balocka spent four years playing NCAA basketball in Hawaii, where he averaged 7.9 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in his senior year.

Latvia was as close as anyone had been to defeating the hosts of the U18 European Championship but Lithuania still squeaked past their northern neighbors 78-75 (25-15, 17-15, 12-24, 24-24). Lithuania finished the second group stage at the helm of Group E with a clean 5-0 record whereas Latvia lost two out of the five games.
