Zalgiris notched up yet another victory in the Lithuanian League (LKL), defeating Sakalai 97-71 (27-16, 29-12, 25-20, 16-13) at home in Kaunas. The defending champions of the league from Kaunas improved to a 10-0 record, while the visiting Sakalai are now only 3-11. Coach Aleksandar Trifunovic finally gave a chance to Mindaugas Kuzminskas, who didn’t disappoint, scoring 20 points for Zalgiris in only his third appearance in 2012.

Lietuvos Rytas claimed another victory in the Lithuanian League (LKL), as they brought Siauliai down 88-71 (28-22, 17-25, 24-11, 19-13) after the big break.
Aleksandr Rasic scored 14 points for Rytas, Renaldas Seibutis added 13, Jonas Valanciunas and Steponas Babrauskas had 12 each.

Darius Songaila and Galatasaray have reached a mutual agreement to terminate the contract and part ways, as the player did not meet the expectations of the club. The Lithuanian forward, who spent seven seasons in the NBA before coming to Istanbul, will reportedly not play for the Turkish side in a Euroleague game against Olympiacos.

Having wasted a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter, Zalgiris handed Cantu a 79-78 (21-17, 11-18, 17-23, 30-19) victory in the Top 16 stage of Euroleague on Wednesday evening in Italy. It was the second loss for Zalgiris in Group H, as they had also been defeated by Maccabi in Kaunas last week, while Cantu improved to 1-1 with a win against Zalgiris after losing to Barcelona.

Lietuvos Rytas bounced back from two consecutive losses in a row and defeated Benetton 78-69 (16-15, 21-15, 9-17, 32-22) in Eurocup to return to winning ways. The win allowed Lietuvos Rytas to improve to a 1-1 record after losing to Lokomotiv in the first week of the Last 16 stage. The Italian side had won the first match, but is also 1-1 after the loss in Lithuania.
