Siauliai is the fourth largest city in Lithuania and is unofficially dubbed the capital of Northern Lithuania. The nearby Hill of Crosses is probably the most known landmark in the region – a hill with about 60,000 crosses of various sizes and decorations has become a tourist attraction to whoever visits Siauliai.
Another point of interest might be a basketball game as the city has a relatively strong team, which has now won the bronze medals in the Lithuanian League (LKL) nine times all together and seven straight. Siauliai is a regular competitor in the Eurocup tournament and can boast with one of the biggest, if not the biggest, average attendance in Lithuania.

Siauliai was one of the first cities to build an arena for EuroBasket 2011 as Siauliai Arena opened its doors already in 2006. A venue, which can seat up to 5,700 spectators in a basketball game, has already hosted such events as the Baltic Basketball League Final Four, the Lithuanian Federation Cup as well as regular Lithuanian League (LKL) and Eurocup games.
The arena is home to the local side – Siauliai, the club, which is dubbed ‘forever third’ with seven consecutive third-place finishes during the past years. The club has been successfully drawing packed arenas in the games against Lietuvos Rytas and Zalgiris. Eurocup games are also watched by big number of spectators.
