Perlas Vilnius advanced to the next round of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation (LKF) Cup after Jonas Valanciunas exploded in an 89:62 victory against Sakalai in a local derby. This was the second leg of the tie. Sakalai had won the first game 90:87 in the beginning of December.

Jonas Valanciunas showcased his talent once again by immensely dominating over opponents. The 17-year-old center scored 22 points, getting 10 of 12 field goal attempts to go, and collected 10 rebounds. What is more, 5 blocks and 3 steals accompanied the double-double in the stats paper to bring his ranking for this game to an overall of 37, while the young prospect spent 26 minutes on the court.

Giedrius Staniulis added 19 points and 6 boards as Zydrunas Kelys, with 8 assists, and Eimantas Bendzius collected 13 each for Perlas.

Sakalai had Laurynas Samenas, Rolandas Matulis, Paulius Joneliunas and Tomas Pranciliauskas reach double-figures, all with 11.

The club from Vilnius will meet Aisciai Kaunas in the next round of the LKF Cup, with games to be played on January 5 and 19.
