Ramunas Butautas debuted in Euroleague with a victory

Zalgiris Kaunas are still in the run for a top four finish in Euroleague group A and a qualifying spot to the Top 16 round. The club from Kaunas wasted the advantage, but still came out on top of Cibona 68:61.

Marcus Brown was the top scorer of the game, collecting 20 points, Tadas Klimavicius had 12 points and 8 rebounds as Dainius Salenga and Travis Watson added 11 and 10 respectively, the latter one also adding 8 boards.

Cibona's Marko Tomas finished with a team-high 18 points as Marin Rozic and Vedran Princ both had 11. 

Vedran Vukusic and Jamont Gordon couldn't help the visiting Cibona due to injuries.

The hosts started the game in the best possible way. scoring basket after basket Zalgiris was in the lead by 14 points after seven minutes - 17:4.

However, Cibona managed to equal the game to some extent, Leon Radosevic dunked it down to narrow the difference to 9 (32:41), but Zalgiris answered with an 8:0 run to regain a solid lead at 49:32.

Zalgiris victory wasn't as sweet as it could be, as Travis Watson got injured in the fourth quarter.

As well as that, the club from Kaunas could not win more than they had lost in Zagreb - 12 points. The point difference might turn out to be a decisive figure, as both Zalgiris and Cibona are still fighting for the advance to the next round.
