Begic, Danys ejected in LKL game

Zalgiris victory against Suduva in Marijampole was marked with a brawl between two players from opposing sides. Mirza Begic from the Kaunas club and the host's Raimundas Danys were both ejected from the game after an incident, which started with Danys' fouling the big Slovenian with two minutes on the clock in the fourth quarter.

Both players are expected to be given an 800 litas fine and a one game suspension. The penalty will be handed to both players for being ejected from a game as stated in the Lithuanian League (LKL) regulations.

"It's stated in the Commissioner’s report, that both players intended to punch each other and therefore the referees decided to eject both players," said Tomas Rimkus, one of LKL's officers.

If the decisions to eject aren't repealed by the league Begic will have to miss a game against Siauliai while Danys will sit out the encounter with Techasas Panevezys.

The official announcement by the league is expected to come on Wednesday.
