Lietuvos Rytas tabs Arvydas Siksnius

Lietuvos Rytas have continued their far-sighted policy by signing high-flying forward Arvydas Siksnius on a long term contract. The player has been one of the leaders for Siauliai this season and has plans to join the Lithuanian powerhouse already next year.

The 196 centimeter tall Siksnius had a wonderful Eurocup season averaging 17 points, 2,3 rebounds and 2,5 assists per 32 minutes each game.

The statistics in the Lithuanian League (LKL) aren't as impressive - 11 points, 3,5 rebounds and 2,6 assists per game in a little bit smaller court time of 27 minutes per game.

"I've signed a deal that will last for longer than a year. Most probably, I'll make my return to Vilnius already for the upcoming season," said the 22-year-old Siksnius, who had a break through year in Sakalai Vilnius the previous season.

Another young talent currently playing for Siauliai, Mindaugas Kuzminskas, was tabbed by Zalgiris earlier this season. Siksnius didn't receive an offer from last year's Lithuanian League runners up. "Lietuvos Rytas was first, Zalgiris made no attempts to sign me," said the player.
