Perlas finished their first Baltic Basketball League (BBL) Challenge Cup campaign with a splash and the first trophy in the team’s short history. The team from the Lithuanian capital flushed TTU Tallinn 99:52 (28:13, 25:16, 29:21, 17:2) in the second leg of the third place game. The youngsters from Vilnius had also won the first matchup taking it 90:72 at home.
Eimantas Bendzius scored 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, Deividas Nazarovas had 19 as Tautvydas Slezas contributed with a double-double of 17 points and 11 boards. Evaldas Kairys netted 16 and finished with 7 rebounds while Giedrius Staniulis added 11.
TTU’s Kaido Saks had 17, Henrik Herman scored 10 and Magnus Klementstov added 8
The Lithuanian club didn’t allow the hosts to score in the first five minutes and ran away early – 14:0. Perlas landed the fatal blow in the second quarter and went up 53:29 and leave no doubts about either the winner of the game, or the tie in general.
