Siauliai used a fantastic second half to finish off the
Lithuanian League (LKL) quarterfinal series against Techasas. The visitors from
Siauliai cruised to a 107:70 (26:21, 22:24, 32:7, 27:18) victory over
the hosts in Panevezys and won the best-of-three series 2-0.
Only three points separated the sides at halftime, but the view on the court
changed dramatically after the break. Siauliai used an amazing 25:2 run to
decide the outcome of the game in the third quarter and gained an
insurmountable advantage.
Mindaugas Kuzminskas was the initiator of the spurt scoring 12 points in the
third quarter alone and finishing with 22 on the night.
Arvydas Siksnius had 18 points, Mindaugas Zukauskas scored 17 as Deivydas
Gailius finished with 16 and Derrick Low added 15 points.
Vaidotas Volkus scored 18 for Techasas, Rytis Streikus netted 14 while Karolis
Petrukonis and Tomas Cerneckis had 13 and 10 respectively.
Siauliai will face the winner of Zalgiris and Rudupis series, where the
Lithuanian powerhouse dominated the first game and is now 1-0 up.
