Zalgiris advances to semis without trouble

Zalgiris cruised to the semifinals of the Lithuanian League after defeating Rudupis 100:77 (27:11, 25:21, 28:23, 20:22) in Prienai to win the quarterfinal series 2-0.

The club from Kaunas will now meet Siauliai, who eliminated Techasas in the quarterfinals and finished third in the regular season.

A 18:2 run set the tone for Zalgiris and the whole game. The visitors strolled past Rudupis without being given a fight. The club from Kaunas had a 33 point advantage at one point in the game at 67:34.

Povilas Butkevicius was on fire once again with 16 points, Aleksandar Capin added 14 points and 7 rebounds as Tadas Klimavicius ended the match with 13.

Rudupis' Gediminas Orelik, who arrived at the club just before the playoffs, had a game-high 25 points, Valdas Dabkus netted 20, Gintatas Vileita scored 18 while Evaldas Dainys added 12.
