Zalgiris extends Salenga

One of Zalgiris' leaders Dainius Salenga has agreed to wear green-and-white for the next season as well. The player signed a new one year deal with last year's Lithuanian League (LKL) runners up. There is an option to extend the contract for another year.

Salenga's career, that included a two-year stint in Spain with Girona, started in Vilnius, but has took the turn to Kaunas, where the player is now the captain of Zalgiris.

This season has been fairly good - the player averaged 14,3 points, 2,7 rebounds and 1,9 assists in LKL. Salenga wasn't as impressive in the Euroleague, but his statistics are also well-rounded as the player scored 12,5 points and grabbed 2,8 boards per game.
