
The first half was an intense tug war between the teams as the lead changed hands ten times. However, the view on the court changed dramatically after the half time team talk. Lietuvos Rytas found their aim from the distance and went on a 23:8 run in the third quarter to burst ahead 60:47 before the final period.
Juventus gave an effort hang on in the last quarter, but quickly found themselves in foul trouble. Lietuvos Rytas didn’t look shaky at all and defeated the side from Utena.
Tomas Jasiulionis had 13 points and 8 rebounds for Utena, Jonas Elvikis also had 13, but missed 5-of-6 long-range attempts as Darius Pakamanis scored 12 points against his former team. Zyrdrunas Urbonas collected 9 while Arunas Vasiliauskas added 8 points.
Martynas Gecevicius made 4-of-5 triples after missing the first three to set the pace for Lietuvos Rytas with 20 points. Donatas Zavackas scored 13 and Kenan Bajramovic collected 11. Simas Butelevicius found himself in double-digits with 10 points wihle both Jonas Valanciunas and Aron Baynes added 9 points each.
Lietuvos Rytas’ turnover numbers were sky high – 23, ten of which came in the first quarter. Vidas Ginevicius had 7 on the night as Kenan Bajramovic and Aron Baynes committed 5 each.
