Siauliai are just one victory away from winning the third place and bronze medals in the Lithuanian League (LKL) after edging Juventus 97-94 (23-15, 25-30, 19-22, 30-27) on the road in Utena to move to 2-0 in a best-of-five series.
The visitors led by only three points as the second quarter began at 25-22, but Siauliai went on a 16:2 run to increase their lead to 15.
However, Juventus got into the game as three-pointers started to drop and even found themselves leading 86-80. Siauliai managed to claw their way back and went in front after Mindaugas Kuzminskas slammed in a put-back dunk make the score 93-92.
Juventus players had chances, but, starting with two missed free-throws by Zydrunas Urbonas on the next possession, nothing worked.
Zydrunas Urbonas led the home side with a team-high 22 points, Virginijus Praskevicius scored 19 and grabbed 8 rebounds as Darius Pakamanis and Gintautas Matulis both collected 14 points.
Siauliai had Mindaugas Kuzminskas as their top-scorer once again with 23 while Deivydas Gailius had 14. Arvydas Siksnius and Derrick Low both netted 11 as Vytautas Sarakauskas finished the game with 10.
