Zalgiris Kaunas players should find out who will coach them during the rest of the Lithuanian League (LKL) finals. Up to know, the two main candidates are former assistant coach Gvidonas Markevicius and the experienced player Marcus Brown.

The owner of the club Vladimir Romanov would prefer to see Marcus Brown in the head coach position. “That would be my dream! Brown’s basketball knowledge is good enough to be a coach for Zalgiris. His basketball IQ says everything, he has a huge experience,” said Romanov.

According to BasketNews.lt Marcus Brown would pair up with coach Sarunas Sakalauskas. But the player isn't very enthusiastic about taking up the offer.

Darius Maskoliunas was forced to resign after working in Zalgiris for just over three months and managed to bring the Baltic League trophy to Kaunas.

The Lithuanian Basketball Federation is going to urge the LKL to start an investigation on Zalgiris' statement that Maskoliunas could have been influencing the results of game.

However, it's widely believed that this was only a pretext to fire Maskoliunas, who wasn't liked by the owner.
