Suduva took a fourth victory in the Lithuanian League (LKL), beating Techasas 89:77 at home in Marijampole on Sunday night.
Last years losers, who won a combined 6 of 40 games throughout the 2008-09 season have made a huge turnaround. Techasas is fourth with a 5-3 record and Suduva lies in the sixth spot at 4-4.
Mantas Rukis was the top scorer of the game with 26 points and Raimundas Danys had a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds as Rashaun Broadus scored 16 for the hosts. Techasas' Ernestas Ezerskis had 19 points and dished out 7 assists. Tomas Cerneckis added 17, Rytis Streikus scored all his points with 5 three pointers to bring his tally to 15, while Mindaugas Sakalauskas netter 11 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
Techasas registered only 8 players for the game and only 7 of them came on the court. Darius Griskenas still has a flu and the coach did not want to risk playing him.
The game started with a fast pace and a free-flowing style, but neither team could break away as the biggest lead of the opening quarter was at 15:11 with Suduva on top.
The hosts used 15:3 run to take a 12 point lead at 45:33 in the second period.
Techasas could not change the story of the game in the third quarter as Suduva increased the lead to 13, the scoreboard showing 63:50 in favor of the hosts.
The visitors from north-eastern Lithuania managed to get back to 6 points, but Suduva asked for a time out and regained the lead that they had.
