Zalgiris Kaunas will probably have a foreigner as the coach. There is also a chance to see veteran guard Marcus Brown staying in the coaching staff as well after coaching the team in the Lithuanian League (LKL) finals when Darius Maskoliunas was forced to step down.

Talks with Aleksandar Petrovic and Rimas Kurtinaitis are under way, but Zalgiris owner Vladimir Romanov tells everyone not to forget Marcus Brown.

“Why are you writing off Brown? I haven’t replaced him yet. He’s still the coach,” Romanov explained to Lietuvos Rytas’ daily newspaper.

The owner also noted that the new head coach will probably be a foreigner. “With intrigues like this in Lithuanian basketball, it’s just better to have someone from abroad,” said Romanov.
