Dovydas Redikas made his first step in professional basketball straight after becoming a European Champion with the Lithuanian U18 national team. The 17-year-old has linked his future with Lietuvos Rytas.

Despite signing with Lietuvos Rytas, Redikas will have to wait for his debut for the Lithuanian champions as he will be sent to the club’s second team – Perlas, which also plays in the country’s elite division (LKL) and is based in Vilnius as well.

The player played for Sarunas Marciulionis Basketball Academy last season in the second Lithuanian division (NKL) and averaged 14.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.

His statistics were even more amazing in the country’s youth league (MKL), where he averaged 27 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists.

Redikas was one of the key players of the Lithuanian side in the U18 European Championship collecting 10.9 points, 2.9 boards and 1.7 dimes on average.
