The Baltic team had a two-point 14-12 lead when the opponents marched right past the helpless Lithuanian defense with a massive 23-7 run, which left the Greens clueless and without an action plan.
However, once Mantas Kalnietis stepped back on the court, the Lithuanian game became more sharp, more fluent and cohesive. Kalnietis dropped a couple of long-range bombs himself to finally tie the game at 39-39.
The see-saw affair was once again ended by the suddenly once again powerful Croatian offensive effort, good enough to increase the gap from one to 11 points for a 64-53 lead.
At the time when Lithuania needed it most, the basket opened up as one three-pointer swished the rim after another and the minus 11 points were quickly replace by plus six at 77-71. Renaldas Seibutis put a full-stop in the story with a good finish on a fast-break to increase the Lithuanian lead to 85-74.
