Jerry Johnson ruptuted his Achilles tendon
Johnson left the court in the second quarter with the help of center Jonas Valanciunas and captain Steponas Babrauskas. The 28-year-old American point guard didn’t return to action after seemingly hurting his ankle.
However, the injury proved to be much more serious than thought before. Johnson was reported to have ruptured the Achilles tendon and is likely to miss the remainder of the season. The guard will undergo thorough medical examination to determine the length of the possible recovery.
Johnson isn’t the only Lietuvos Rytas player to be sidelined as the team captain Steponas Babrauskas and young guard Zydrunas Kelys are out with injuries as well.
