Mirza Begic is going to Spain
“Yes the transfer fee is higher, comparing to the first offer, but we’re not going to comment the financial details. Part of the buyout will be covered by the player and his agents,” said Paulius Motiejunas, the team’s General Director.
Begic and his agents had unilaterally terminated the contract with Zalgiris just before the New Year and, despite many offers, the player couldn’t sign another club without a letter of release from Zalgiris, which was granted to Real Madrid after they paid the buyout.
The big Slovenian was having a good season for Zalgiris before his departure, averaging 9.7 points and 4,8 rebounds in Euroleague as well as leading the league in blocked shots with 2.3 per game.
