Zalgiris are now on the edge of an abyss after a 72-80 (19-22, 22-19, 13-17, 18-22) loss on the road to Fenerbahce left the Lithuanian club still winless in the Euroleague Top 16, while the Istanbul club improved to 3-0.

A massive difference in the teams’ three-point percentage made a big influence to the outcome of the game, as Fenerbahce nailed 11-of-23 attempts from downtown, while Zalgiris hit only 8-of-24.

DeJuan Collins and Paulius Jankunas co-led Zalgiris in scoring, collecting 14 point each, Aleksandar Capin had probably the best game of the season with 12 points as Tomas Delininkaitis added 10 points himself.

The Turkish side had Oguz Savas and Marko Tomas scoring 15 points. each as Emir Preldzic and Mirsad Turkcan finished with 13 each while Roko Ukic added 12 points. Sarunas Jasikevicius scored 7 points for Fenerbahce as another Lithuanian, Darjus Lavrinovic, ended the night without scoring, but with 7 rebounds.

Fenerbahce Ulker showed great performance overall with contributions from several different players. With the quality of their game, it is not a surprise why they have enjoyed a great record so far. As for Zalgiris, they cannot seem to get it together just yet, although they have what it takes to stay close, they do not have the killer's instinct yet to take the W all the way on their side..
