Toronto Raptors announced terrible news for Lithuania. Linas Kleiza, the leader of the Lithuanian national team, underwent arthroscopic surgery yesterday to address both a meniscal tear and chondral defect of his right knee.

The recovery time is expected to be between nine to twelve months, which will most likely prevent Kleiza from helping Lithuania in EuroBasket 2011, which the country will host.

Kleiza led the Lithuanian national team to bronze medals in the 2010 World Championship in Turkey, averaging 19.0 points and 7.1 rebounds for the Lithuanian side. The player was also chosen to the All-Tournament team.

Yeah, me too. The chances of winning it all have kind of vanished with Kleiza out...

Damn! I was really hoping the best players would be able to play for Lithuania at Eurobasket.
