Tomas Delininkaitis’ solo act saved the day for Zalgiris, as the marksman nailed seven three-pointers to help the Kaunas side to keep a clean record with another win in Vilnius. Zalgiris had major problems against the local Perlas team throughout the game and managed to pull away only in the last minute for a 62-57 (14-9, 12-13, 13-16, 19-14) win.

If it hadn’t been for a 23-point night from Delininkaitis, who knocked down 7-of-8 long-range attempts, Zalgiris could have been in lots of trouble, as only Paulius Jankunas also reached double-digits with a 13 point and 12 rebound effort. Trent Plaisted was the next in the scorer’s list for the club from Kaunas with 6 points.

“It wasn’t a basketball game today. We didn’t play basketball and I only comment on basketball games,” Ilias Zouros noted in his short post-match interview.

Laurynas Samenas slashed right through Zalgiris defense time and time again to collect a team-high 15 points as Saulius Kulvietis and Arvydas Siksnius both scored 14 points for Perlas, who had kept the close until the very end of the game.
