“I’ve heard that I have drawn the attention from other teams as well, not only Zalgiris, but it’s difficult to comment anything when I don’t really have all the facts myself. I have never ruled out the possibility of returning to Lithuania, but I would like to stay away from more detail comments. Even more so, because I still have a running contract with Valencia,” Javtokas described the situation.
The 31-year-old captain of the Lithuanian national team also revealed that the most important aspect for him is that the team would play in Euroleague. Also, Javtokas gave an insight that his buyout is less than €100,000 as speculated by the media.
“When I played for Lietuvos Rytas, I thought that I would never go to Zalgiris. My thinking has changed, though. If I ever went to Zalgiris, I’d be one hundred percent devoted to the team. I grew up as a player in Vilnius, matured as a person and gained self confidence. My emotions for Lietuvos Rytas are still strong, but everything pretty much depends on the conditions of the offered deal. I would love to play in Lithuania, but it doesn’t really matter in which team,” Javtokas concluded.
