Darius Songaila should sign with Lietuvos Rytas
The 33-year-old power forward has been playing in the NBA since 2003, but his contract with the Philadelphia 76ers ended this summer and the whole league went into lockout.
According to BasketNews.lt, the deal should be signed in the nearest future, but the President of the club, Gedvydas Vainauskas didn’t want to confirm anything yet.
“There’s nothing to report yet. Call me at the end of the week. First of all, Songaila wants to play for the national team and only afterward for a club,” Vainauskas told BasketNews.lt.
Zalgiris had also shown some interest in Songaila, but the
player would prefer to move to the country’s capital, Vilnius, to play for
Lietuvos Rytas, who have already surprised many with the addition of Renaldas Seibutis.
