Rytas took another impressive win in the Lithuanian League (LKL) in front of
their own crowd, defeating Siauliai 103-74(25-19, 23-28, 25-17, 30-10) and handing them a first loss in LKL this season.
The first half of the game promised an intense fight – the score was 48-47 for the hosts after twenty minutes, however, the visitors couldn’t hold on any longer, losing the second half 17-55, being massively overwhelmed after the break.
Tyrece Rice and Jonas Valanciunas led the home side with 23 and 22 points respectively and the latter one also grabbed 5 boards, Steponas Babrauskas added 14 points, and Mindaugas Katelynas finished the game with 13.
For the visitors, the veteran swingman Mindaugas Zukauskas led his team with 14 points, Cam Long scored 12, while Valdas Vasylius added 10.
Lietuvos Rytas climbed to the first place of the LKL table with a win that brought them to a 6-0 record, knocking Siauliai (6-1) down to second.
