Lietuvos Rytas inscribed another victory in the Lithuanian League (LKL), defeating the visiting Techasas 80-55 (18-12, 15-14, 27-10, 20-19) in Vilnius on Saturday to improve their domestic record to 8-0, while Techasas are still searching for the team’s first victory, having lost six matches already.

Renaldas Seibutis led Lietuvos Rytas with 19 points, Jonas Valanciunas scored 13 points, while Mindaugas Katelynas collected 12 points and added eight rebounds.

Predrag Samardziski scored nine points and grabbed 11 boards, as Tyrese Rice had an unusually quiet night, finishing the game with only five points, but compensated that with 10 assists.

Despite a confident victory, the coach of Lietuvos Rytas, Aleksandar Dzikic, has another headache, as the Macedonian big man Samardziski might have re-injured his left knee. Whether that is the case will be known after medical tests on Sunday.

Giedrius Staniulis scored a 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the visitors from Panevezys, while the only other Techasas player in double digits was Sarunas Kulevicius, who had 10 points, six rebounds and four assists.
