
Zalgiris Kaunas remain unbeaten in the Lithuanian League (LKL), as they defeated Techasas on the road in Panevezys 89-79 (25-23, 17-17, 27-24, 20-15).
The distance between the teams was little until the fourth quarter, when the Greens managed to maintain a 10-point lead over the hosts and keep it safe until the very end.
Robertas Javtokas led Zalgiris with 13 points and 9 boards, Marko Popovic added 12, Paulius Jankunas scored 11, Ty Lawson, Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Mantas Kalnietis finished with 10 each.
For Techasas, Giedrius Staniulis scored 16 and grabbed 5 rebounds, Ernestas Ezerskis had an impressive double-double with 13 points, 11 assists and 5 boards, Osvaldas Matulionis finished the game with 11.
For the 24-year-old Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson, it is probably the last game in Zalgiris roster, as the lockout is expected to be lifted next week.
Zalgiris' sports manager Vitoldas Masalskis told 15min.lt that the team might have additions in near future. Besides, 35-year-old guard DeJuan Collins is still suspended, his situation is going to be cleared in the coming days.
