Lietuvos
Rytas took another convincing victory in Eurocup defeating Sarthe Basket 79-62 (12-20, 26-12, 24-7, 17-23) on the road in Le Mans to move to
3-0 in Group F of the competition.
Although Lietuvos
Rytas were first to open up the scoring, getting ahead to an early 4-0 lead, the
hosts answered with a 12-2 run, which gave Sarthe Basket the lead at 12-6.
However, in
the second quarter Steponas Babrauskas knocked down three three-pointers and
allowed the visitors to regain the advantage before half time.
Lietuvos
Rytas carried over the momentum to the second half, pulling away from Le Mans
to a safe distance and cruising to an easy victory.
Steponas Babrauskas
ended up as the leading scorer for Lietuvos Rytas with 15 points, Tyrese Rice
and Renaldas Seibutis both finished with 12 points each, with the latter adding
five rebounds and four assists.
Aleksandar
Rasic and Lawrence Roberts both scored nine points, but Roberts also added 15
rebounds to his account, while Rasic dished out four assists.
Alex Acker
had 17 points for Le Mans, while the only other players in double-figures were
Marcellus Sommerville and former Lietuvos Rytas player Joao Paulo Batista, both
of whom finished the game with 11 points.
