
Two-time Eurocup winners Lietuvos Rytas sealed the first place in Group F of the competition, defeating the visiting Krka Novo Mesto side 82-72 (15-18, 20-22, 25-19, 22-13) at home in Vilnius after a great fourth quarter.

After a
very close first period, the visitors from Slovenia pulled away in the second
quarter, opening a 40-35 lead at the half, which was momentarily extended to
nine points in the third quarter.
However,
Lietuvos Rytas didn’t panic and started decreasing the deficit, before two
three-pointers by the team’s captain Steponas Babrauskas allowed the Lithuanian
side to take the upper hand at 60-57.
The fourth
quarter was all one-way traffic, as the hosts confidently marched to the fifth
consecutive victory, while Krka suffered another defeat to the Lithuanian team.
Tyrese Rice
had a game-high 16 points, also adding seven assists and three steals, Renaldas
Seibutis scored 14 points, while Mindaugas Katelynas was the only other player
in double-digits with 10 points.
Aleksandar
Rasic and Lawrence Roberts both collected nine points, with the latter also
grabbing 10 rebounds, Steponas Babrauskas scored eight, while Jonas Valanciunas
finished the game with six points and three rebounds in only 16 minutes of
playing time.
For Krka,
Jimmy Baxter had 14 points and five rebounds, Smiljan Pavic scored 13 points
and added nine rebounds, while Mustafa Abdul Hamid chipped in with 11 points
for the Slovenians.
