Brose Baskets couldn't defend their home court as they were knocked down by Zalgiris Kaunas 68-82 (13-20, 17-24, 19-14, 19-24), handing them a chance to get into the Top16 round.
Zalgiris were the first to open the scoring with an early 8-0 spurt, but it didn't take long for the German side to close the distance to just one point. The successful play by the visitors allowed them to create an advantage of seven after the first ten minutes.
Aggressive Zalgiris' gameplay and two consecutive three-pointers kept them advancing and securing a 14-point edge after the first half.
The Greens kept rolling over the Germans as the hosts struggled to find their game after the big break, but a late spurt by the hosts decreased their deficit to nine.
In the decisive part of the game Brose Baskets became desperate, while Zalgiris remained controlling the situation, clinching their third victory in this year's Euroleague season and keeping their Top16 hope real if they manage to win against KK Zagreb in Kaunas.
Mantas Kalnietis and Sonny Weems led Zalgiris with 14 points, the latter one also collected six boards. Marko Popovic added 13 points, Tomas Delininkaitis finished the game with 12.
For Brose Baskets, Predrag Suput scored 16 and grabbed 4 rebounds, Brian Roberts had 13, Marcus Slaughter chipped in with 10.
