After not
qualifying to the Last 16 round in Eurocup with Rudupis, Dainius Salenga
decided to opt out of his contract with the club and will move up north to
Latvia after agreeing to a deal with VEF Riga.
The
34-year-old veteran exercised the option in the contract, which allowed Salenga
to get a salary bump and continue playing in Eurocup, as VEF made it to the
next stage.
The player
averaged 12.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists for Rudupis in Eurocup, but
couldn’t help the side qualify to the next round, as the Prienai team lost the
decisive game to Aris Thessaloniki after over time.
