Zalgiris will face a steep challenge of climbing out of the Top 16 group after being drawn together with Barcelona, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Bennet Cantu into Group H.
“We were drawn into the toughest group. Barcelona and Maccabi have always been amongst the best Euroleague clubs by winning the competition on a number of occasions, while Cantu have also proved their worth by qualifying to the Top 16. We'll have to play our best to advance,” said Jonas Stadalninkas, the general director of Zalgiris.
The club from Kaunas was amongst the lowest seeds in the Euroleague Top 16 draw, which was held in Barcelona on Wednesday, having qualified to the next round only after winning the last game against Zagreb at home.
