Lietuvos Rytas registered the team’s fifth victory in the VTB League after defeating Spartak 72-61 (14-13, 21-16, 20-19, 17-13) at home in Vilnius on Tuesday evening, behind a rather impressive outing by Jonas Valanciunas.
The 19-year-old
Lithuanian big man finished the game with a double-double of 14 points and 11
rebounds, also adding four blocked shots in 27 minutes of action.
Tyrese Rice
led Lietuvos Rytas in scoring with 17 points, Renaldas Seibutis had 13, while
Arturas Jomantas added 10 points.
For Spartak, Valery Likhodey and Patrick Beverley had 11 points each, as Greek big man Loukas Mavrefokalidis finished the game with 10.
