Despite
having agreed on a preliminary deal with Azovmash, Marijonas Petravicius will
not be making his way to Mariupol. Family issues would have only allowed the
player to join the team in late January, but Azovmash weren’t ready to wait, lrytas.lt reports.
“We haven’t
closed the door entirely for Marijonas. If we can’t find a suitable replacement
in a month, we’ll ask him again,” said the Lithuanian sporting director of the
club Rolandas Jarutis.
Petravicius
had to miss most of the EuroBasket for Lithuania after being diagnosed with a
lung problem two games into the tournament. The player only recently finished
his recovery.
