Rytas bounced back from two consecutive losses in a row and defeated Benetton 78-69 (16-15, 21-15, 9-17, 32-22) in Eurocup to return to winning ways.
The win
allowed Lietuvos Rytas to improve to a 1-1 record after losing to Lokomotiv in
the first week of the Last 16 stage. The Italian side had won the first match,
but is also 1-1 after the loss in Lithuania.
Jonas
Valanciunas led the team from Vilnius with 17 points, 10 rebounds and three
blocks in a playing time of 32 minutes. Mindaugas Katelynas scored 14 points
and grabbed seven boards, while Renaldas Seibutis added 13 points.
Jeffery
Viggiano was the top-scorer for Benetton with 15 points, Marcus Goree had 12
points, Vlad Moldoveanu added 11, while Sani Becirovic chipped in with 10
points and nine assists.
