Zalgiris notched up yet another victory in the Lithuanian League (LKL), defeating Sakalai 97-71 (27-16, 29-12, 25-20, 16-13) at home in Kaunas.
The defending champions of the league from Kaunas improved to a 10-0 record, while the visiting Sakalai are now only 3-11.
Coach Aleksandar Trifunovic finally gave a chance to Mindaugas Kuzminskas, who didn’t disappoint, scoring 20 points for Zalgiris in only his third appearance in 2012.
Tomas Delininkaitis had 14 points, Milovan Rakovic and Paulius Jankunas both chipped in with 12 points, while Tadas Klimavicius contributed with 10.
For the visitors, Laurynas Sakalai scored 16 points, Arnas Butkevicius collected 15 and Evaldas Baniulis added 14 points in a losing effort.
