The starting fives of the Lithuanian League (LKL) All-Star Game, which were officially announced by the league on Monday, will feature only players from Zalgiris and Lietuvos Rytas in a traditional game between the Lithuanians and the foreign All-Stars.
Like usually, the players of Zalgiris received the most votes and will take up seven of the ten starting positions, while the rest three belong to Lietuvos Rytas players.
Sonny Weems received the most fan votes this year, amassing a total of 11,317 mentions out of the total of 12,723. However, this number was just shy of the all-time high number of votes set by Jonas Valanciunas last year, who collected 11,545 votes a year ago.
Perhaps the most surprising member of the ten chosen players is the new Zalgiris acquisition Reeves Nelson, who is averaging only 2 points and 2 rebounds per game in the LKL.
Updated: Since Reeves Nelson left Zalgiris Kaunas, he will be replaced by Lawrence Roberts from Lietuvos Rytas, who received the second-most votes amongst foreign power forwards.
Starting five of Lithuanian All-Stars:
Coach: Antanas Sireika – 5734 (Siauliai)
Starting five of foreign All-Stars:
Coach: Aleksandar Trifunovic – 9247 votes (Zalgiris)
