If a team turned the ball over 17 times in a game, any coach would probably feel at least a little bit displeasured by such a performance. In a second division game in Lithuania, a single player managed to do that just on his own.
The 19-year-old ABRO-Universitetas point guard Airidas Kurauskas set a new league record in turnovers per game, turning the ball over 17 times in a blowout loss to Statyba (53-96) on the road in Vilnius.
The player spent 33 minutes on the court, finishing the game with 3 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists on the way to a shameful record. Kurauskas is averaging 5.6 turnovers per game this season.
The whole ABRO-Universitetas team managed to make 41 turnovers in the game, while their opponents, Statyba, finished the game with 17.
