Having defeated Alba in Vilnius a week ago, Lietuvos Rytas came out on top on Tuesday in Berlin as well, taking an 79-62 victory and thereby eliminating the Germans from further contention for a Eurocup quarterfinal spot.

The Lithuanian team took the control of the game from the get-go, before pulling ahead to a more substantial lead in the beginning of the second quarter at 30-18, behind a superb performance by Renaldas Seibutis.

Despite the fact that Alba had got within eight points in the last quarter, Lietuvos Rytas held on tight and regained and even increased their advantage over the hosts in the remaining time.

The 26-year-old Lietuvos Rytas guard Renaldas Seibutis stole the spotlight in the O2 Arena in Berlin, scoring a season-high 26points on 10-of-15 field goals, making four three-pointers along the way.

Tyrese Rice and Mindaugas Katelynas had 10 points each for the visitors, Lawrence Roberts scored nine, while Jonas Valanciunas finished with eight points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Alba’s offensive effort was led by the duo of Dashaun Wood and Bryce Taylor, as both American finished with 13 points each, while Kyle Weaver and Marko Simonovic collected 11 and 10 respectively for the Berlin side.
