It seems that Sonny Weems will not stay in Kaunas for much longer after all. Despite boldly stating that the 25-year-old American will not be moving anywhere until the end of the season, Zalgiris should be prepared to lose one of the key players.
In a blog at HoopsHype, Weems said that he is likely to return to the NBA already this season and his agent Roger Montgomery is talking with Vladimir Romanov, the owner of Zalgiris, about parting ways with the Lithuanian team.
The former Toronto Raptors player revealed that his goal was to win a Euroleague title and with Zalgiris practically out of the battle for a place in the quarterfinals, he did not want to play only in the Lithuanian League and the VTB United League.
