Robertas Javtokas broke the rim with a powerful put-back dunk in Samara, as Zalgiris strolled to an easy 79-59 (21-18, 21-10, 21-14, 16-17) victory over Krasnye Krylia in the VTB United League on Wednesday.

The Lithuanians started the game well, going ahead 17-9 already in the first quarter, but Krasnye Krylia managed to get straight back into the game. Robertas Javtokas started the second quarter by breaking the rim with a powerful put-back dunk, which delayed the game for around 15 minutes.

However, it didn’t seem to change Zalgiris’ attitude as the Greens came out strong after the stall and finished the second quarter up by 14 points.

Paulius Jankunas scored 17 points, Robertas Javtokas had 12 points and 7 rebounds, while Tadas Klimavicius and Milovan Rakovic added 10 points each for Zalgiris.

Lionnel Rush had a game-high 18 points for the hosts, with Aaron Miles and Nikita Balashov chipping in with 9 and 8 points respectively.

The fourth win in the last five games allowed Zalgiris to improve to 6-6, while the Russian side dropped to a 7-8 record following the loss against the Lithuanian champions.
