After putting on a show in the Lithuanian League (LKL) All-Star Day, Jonas Valanciunas participated in another interesting, but perhaps probably a much more significant project off the court on Friday.
The Lithuanian star put on a clownish red nose and became a news presenter for a day in support of one Lithuanian TV station’s project, which aims not only to raise money and awareness about youngsters in foster homes or hospitals, but also to entertain the unlucky few.
“To be honest, I hadn’t heard about the Red Nose Day before, but I really liked the idea. It’s really nice to know that you can help the kids,” said Valanciunas, who admittedly rather enjoyed the TV presenter’s job.
“It was fun. I’ll be back here in some twenty years,” the youngster smiled.
This is Valanciunas’ last year in Lithuania before joining the Toronto Raptors, who drafted the center with the 5th pick of the 2011 NBA Draft, for next season.
