Despite falling behind early, Zalgiris went a on a huge second quarter run to pull away against Rudupis to take an 85-67 (18-25, 22-5, 21-9, 24-28) victory and tie the Baltic Basketball League (BBL) quarterfinal series at 1-1. The third game will be played in Kaunas on March 28.
Rudupis took a nine point lead in the beginning of the second period, but Zalgiris went on a 17-0 run as part of a 22-5 quarter to end the half up 40-30. The second half was a one-sided affair, as Zalgiris dominated behind a well-rounded team effort.
Mantas Kalnietis and Mindaugas Kuzminskas top-scored the hosts with 12 points each, while Marko Popovic added 11.
For Rudupis, Arnas Labuckas was the leading scorer with 17 points, Simas Buterlevicius had 12 points, while Arturas Milaknis contributed with 11.
