Dejan
Ivanov will be coming to play in Vilnius next season after inking a deal with
Lietuvos Rytas, where he will likely replace Jonas Valanciunas, who is leaving to the
NBA to join the Toronto Raptors.
As reported
by Sportando.net, the deal between the Lithuanian League (LKL) runners-up and
the 26-year-old big man from Bulgaria has already been finalized. Ivanov is
represented by BeoBasket, a basketball agency closely linked with Lietuvos
Rytas.
The player
spent the last season in Italy, playing for Sutor Montegranaro, where he
averaged 13.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game in the Serie A. Ivanov had played
in clubs across Bulgaria, Russia, Spain and Croatia before coming to Italy.
