
Simas Jasaitis will continue his career in
Russia, as the 30-year-old forward signed a two-year contract with Lokomotiv
Krasnodar, which finished third in the Russian League (PBL) last season.
“I had a couple of offers, but I chose
Lokomotiv. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the club and wanted to try
myself in the Russian league,” said Jasaitis.
It is reported, that Zalgiris Kaunas was also
actively pursuing the services of the player, but Jasaitis, who spent the
previous season in Turkey with Turk Telekom Ankara, decided to choose the
Russian team instead.
The Lithuanian national team forward was
averaging 10 points and 4.4 rebounds in the Turkish League (TBL). However, he
was really disappointing in the Eurochallenge, where he scored 4.8 points and
grabbed 3.2 boards per game.
