Lietuvos Rytas is tackling the
summer market with full strength, with plenty of reports floating around about
the Lithuanian team. Reportedly, there might be more changes in the club.
In an interview with Krepsinis.net, the team’s director Martynas Purlys revealed that the situation
regarding the future of two American players – Lawrence Roberts and Tyrese Rice– is still unclear.
“As we speak, Roberts is a
member of Lietuvos Rytas and has a contract with the club. However, it’s still
not clear whether he’ll stay in Vilnius. There are some ongoing negotiations
with the player’s agent,” said Purlys.
With Lietuvos Rytas adding another
power forward in the Bulgarian big man Dejan Ivanov and still looking for a
center in the market, it seems almost certain that Roberts will continue his
career elsewhere.
As first reported by Sportando.net, Leon Radosevic is the number one candidate to join Lietuvos Rytas on loan from
Olimpia Milano. It should be clear by tomorrow, whether the 22-year-old
Croatian center will be coming to Lithuania.
According to Purlys, the
situation with point guard Tyrese Rice is very similar to Lawrence Roberts’.
There was an option to extend the player’s contract for another season, but
after multiple reports, it is still unclear whether it will be done.
