Vytenis Cizauskas will get a chance to show his
skills in Spain, as the Lithuanian point guard is set to move to Valladolid on
loan from Zalgiris Kaunas.
According to LithuaniaBasketball.com sources,
the 19-year-old guard has only one more year on his contract with the
Lithuanian champions.
With Cizauskas not in the club’s plans for the
foreseeable future, Zalgiris was actively looking for a possible destination
for the talented prospect.
Zalgiris has already put their signature on the
loan agreement with the Spanish club and is only waiting for Valladolid to
confirm the transfer.
Cizauskas was one of the key players in the
Lithuanian triumph in the U20 European Championship in Slovenia, averaging 12.6
points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.
The player spent the last season with Baltai Kaunas, where he averaged 7.9 points, 4 rebounds and 1.8 assists in the Lithuanian League (LKL).
Valladolid already has a deep connection with Lithuanian basketball, as Darius Songaila represented the club last year, while Lithuanian greats Arvydas Sabonis and Valdemaras Chomicius have also played there in the past.
