Marijonas Petravicius decided to prematurely end his professional career at 32-years-old due to serious health issues.
The always-smiling big man was diagnosed with pulmonary microsembolism last year in Eurobasket, but was still hoping of making a comeback.
"Doctors didn't want me to play anymore, because it would put my future health at risk. If I played again, there could be serious complications," Marijonas Petravicius told lrytas.lt
The player had signed a contract with Khimki Moscow Region last season, but left the team in February due to the health condition.
During his career, Petravicius has also played for clubs from Germany, Belgium, Latvia and Italy, with his longest spell coming at Lietuvos Rytas, where he spent three seasons.
